if you hadn't noticed, my brother's hair has gotten to be a bit outrageous. so outrageous, in fact, that he has decided enough is enough and it needs to go. so when he mentioned that he'd be cutting his long locks, i suggested doing something for charity rather than let a head of hair like that go to waste.
naturally, there were some naysayers. "it has to be at least 10 inches to donate [to locks of love]."
phooey.
sounded like excuses to me. there are other ways to help charity, and i was going to find one. so i volunteered my brother to cut his hair like vanilla ice to help save the polar bears. we set a $200 goal; if we could raise that amount of money in less than a week, my brother agreed to go through with it.
i'm happy to announce that in three days' time, we raised $245 to help save the polar bears... i said in three. days.
it's proof that, even if someone tells you it's not possible, an idea can be just crazy enough that it actually works. thank you to everyone who contributed a donation — no matter how large or small — thank you to everyone who helped me collect donations, and a special thank you to my brother for being a great sport about all of this... even if you were drunk when you decided to go through with it! :D
